Artist Statement

I am an Israeli landscape painter. The draw of the rugged Judean hills, the sensuality of the dipping curves of the valleys and the ever changing shades of color, have always intrigued my senses. Then I became aware of the same qualities in the big trucks that are part of, yet upstage the landscape. In my pool series, the checkpoints and the views of Jerusalem at night, views of ancient land have given way to the contemporary human landscape. Vibrancy, tension, and emotional scenes of everyday life have captured my attention. My paintings reflect the underlying energy and pulse of life, which is an undercurrent ever present in my volatile, passionate country.
